Clare Azzopardi is a Maltese writer, academic and literary critic. She was born on September 28, 1977, in Malta. Azzopardi is known for her work in both Maltese and English, and has won numerous awards for her writing in both languages. She is a professor of Maltese at the University of Malta, and has also served as the head of the Department of Maltese. Azzopardi has published several collections of short stories, including the critically acclaimed "Il-Linja l-Qareeb Tinghata" (The Closest Line is Given), as well as novels, plays, and children's books. In addition to her writing, Azzopardi is also an active member of the Maltese literary community, and has served as a judge for several literary awards. Her work has been translated into several languages and has been published in various international literary magazines.
